What is a Sponsor and Why Do I Need One?

Anyone who has participated in a Walk to Emmmaus, a Chrysalis Flight, Cursillo, Tres Dias, or another valid expression of the recognized fourth-day movements can sponsor another person to attend a Walk to Emmaus or a Chrysalis Fliight. The purpose of a sponsor is to:

· Discuss Emmaus or Chrysalis with the potential candidate

· Assist the candidate in preparing the registration form

· Assist the candidate in preparing for the weekend

· Transport the candidate to the weekend

· Support the candidate's family by assisting with house-sitting, baby-sitting, watering plants, picking up mail, etc. during the weekend

· Attend the closing ceremony for the weekend

· Assist the candidate in re-entering his/her church to continue with new-found commitment and enthusiasm

· Assist the candidate in joining a share group after the weekend

· Take the candidate to a few monthly gatherings after the weekend

· Inform the candidate of ways to serve the Emmaus or Chrysalis community and future weekends
